Flora

Overview

  • Trees: Various types of trees grow in the wilds of the jungle and are said to grow from 50 to 800 feet high and can be up to 350 years in age! Some trees include the big-leafed mahogany, the grand canopy and the Eyrenese Nut Tree!
  • Bamboo: Very common in this area, bamboo can be harvested to craft weapons and armour for those that have the skill to do so. It can also be used to create various tools.
  • Epiphytes: Plants which never touch soil and tend to grow on the high branches of the trees. They include such plants as ferns, orchids, and various flowers. People may try and climb to the highest tops of the canopies to access some really beautiful and utilized plant life.
  • Bromeliads: More than 500 species of bromeliads exist within Eyr, including the pineapple! They are large-leafed ground plants that stretch up to 15 feet in length and produce red, orange, purple, or blue flowers which can vary in effects if used in consumption.
  • Lianas: Vine-like plants which make up nearly 8 percent of jungle flora. These plants provide jungle wildlife with protection and help stabilize trees on which they grow. They often hold several different mechanisms including roots, hooks, tendrils, thorns, and winding twigs to hold on to the trees they climb and the ground they clutter.
  • Fungi: Another commonplace flora is the wide range of fungi found in the damper jungle areas. Abundant and varying in effects of consumption, the fungi have many different characteristics and colorations and can vary in size from a small coin to a regular human.

Ores & Mineral Goods

Overview

Ores & Minerals are found mostly in abundance due to the flourishing ecosystem of the jungle. They are classified into Ore, Metal, Minerals, and Rarities, each requiring prior knowledge of extraction and use less they become destroyed by inexperienced hands.

  • Ore: A type of rock that contains sufficient minerals with important elements including metals that can be extracted from the land. Ore is found via ore composites and extracted using mining. Once extracted, it becomes a large and unrefined piece that must be smelted for use.
  • Metals: Found in ore, one must smelt and extract the mined piece in order to get a refined metal that can be used to craft and use. Metal can also be remade from already existing refined pieces that are melted down and reforged.
  • Minerals: A very undetermined definition, a mineral is a substance that can be used for various things in crafting, brewing, and even food preparation! Minerals can be extracted from ore composites much in the same way as metals are extracted.
  • Rare & Magical Mined Goods: Not to be mistaken as mining a substance magically, but rather substances that are mined which have magical properties. These are considered controlled and must have admin approval before use in roleplay.
