Plane-touched elves are crossbreeds that possess the blood of ancestors that original from non-material planes. Fey'ri are cross breeds that possess blood of distant ancestors that originate from the abyssal plane.
- All plane-touched elves are just as mortal as their normal elven counterpart. No matter what their heritage is, they are still predominantly elves and all the mortal trappings that come along with that.
- They live a comparable lifespan as normal elves.
- No Mysts of Eyr standard plane-touched character is a direct descendant of a cross breed pairing.
In comparison to standard elves, they maintain having pointy ears and a smaller frame, but are not as svelte as normal Elves. They also have a wide variety of colors for skin and hair. However, the shades of these features skew heavily towards red and black. Additionally, they have pointed tails; they sometimes also have dark red or black wings. Their eyes are usually of a glowing, golden shade. Their faces and sharper and more angular as well.
The Fey’ri are gifted with only a few abilities. They have Darkvision up to 60 feet, and low-light vision as well. Darkvision is black and white, but is otherwise like normal sight. Dwarves however cannot see through magical darkness. Under low light conditions, Fey’ri can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar instances of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color in these conditions.
Additionally, the Fey’ri are subtly influenced by their Abyssal heritage; they can slightly geared towards dark magic, and are slightly inhibited or hurt by holy magic.
Fey'ri are weak to holy/divine/sacred magic, artifacts, and places, causing 2 to 3 times as more damage to them as it would an average human; stepping onto holy ground is either not physically possible (they feel a barrier that prevents them from going in) or causes extreme burning pain. They can also be disoriented by bright lights as a result of the darkvision and low-light vision.
Unfortunately, Fey’ri society tends to be stable; the arrogant tendencies of the Elves and their strong desire for power and chaos from the Abyssal side make Fey’ri distrusting of their fellow elves. As a result, their culture has very little order since people cannot be trusted to have power without abuse. As a result, they tend to be very favorable of minimal social structure and governments, almost to the point of anarchy.
Their arts, music, and literature have dark, chaotic elements, with music having tritones and half-step intervals, while their artwork features scenes of destruction and chaos.
With their mindset and the magic of their Abyssal heritage, most Fey’ri are gifted with magic casting, but tend towards darker arts.
