Token Cost: 5 Tokens
Amount: Spell-scroll imbued - enough to ignite a single Hellfire flame
Description: This single yet powerful flame is considered of demonic origin and is conjured from the abyssal plane through sheer chaotic will. Imbued especially to a spell scroll for safe holding, Hellfire may be used within Eyr to assault a person or place and is particularly useful in countering holy attack. Hellfire causes severe burn wounds that can be considered cursed; spreading infection and corruption, and therefore requires immediate specialist treatment and recovery. Hellfire is capable of igniting widespread flash fire when combined with various anointed oils, spawning regular fire to rampage and consume all in it’s path within a 20m radius, and is twice as difficult to extinguish.
Restriction Level: High - Restricted. (See Controlled Substances Web Page)
Terms & Conditions: As a token reward, Hellfire is limited to provision of specially imbued spell-scroll which will ignite a single yet powerful Hellfire flame upon activation (when the scroll is read aloud) Examples of use include yet are not limited to:
- Crafting Unholy Weapons
- Offensive or Defensive Spells (including Flash Fires)
- Direct Damage (especially against those weak to Hellfire - celestials, elves and some elementals etc)
- Unholy Ritual/Curses
- Removal of Blessings/Holy Wards
When treated as weapons, Hellfire and Holy water fall upon near exact opposites of the divine spectrum, and thus when one is used to counter the other, generally the two will neutralise and negate the each other’s full impact potential. To maintain plausibility, Hellfire cannot be directly wielded in Eyr by any races or characters that are, in themselves, in affinity with pure/holy or ‘light/good’ divine energies.
The scroll itself is much like any other magically imbued scroll - it can be misplaced, damaged or even destroyed if not kept safe and dry. Multiple Hellfire scrolls can be combined for more powerful and destructive intent, though for use in sim-wide events or with far-reaching consequences in mind, ensure to speak to a member of the admin team first!
How to Use
When your character is ready to use their Hellfire or hand it over to a crafter/business within Eyr the following action should be taken:
- The object marked 'Hellfire Scroll' found within the reward folder should be rezzed in-world.
- Confirm you wish to 'utilize' the item by clicking 'yes' (if select no, remember to take the object back into your inventory for later use)
- The object will then expire and self delete, sending email confirmation of IC use to the Eyr admin team for us to log in our token reward records.
- The Hellfire is considered 'used' and the desired effect is considered active or the crafter/business is free to icly create your ordered/requested object (so long as meets the terms and conditions of use)
The power of Hellfire lies in its dark divine energy, a conduit of unholy essence that strikes fear and pain into the most pure of hearts and minds. Whether its strength is applied through ritual magic, imbued into a weapon or used in a more direct method of offence or defence, Hellfire can harm anyone, almost anywhere, and where holy, pure-souled or good aligned creatures are concerned, to drastic levels of severity.
Physical wounds and burns caused by Hellfire are said to be some of the most agonizing, causing damage to flesh and nerves that not only causes scarring and loss of sensation, but goes so far as to risk infecting the skin cells and blood with devastating infection. Reactions can vary, but Hellfire burns can cause serious necrosis, spreading a dark and unholy taint throughout the body and os naturally, holy beings are more vulnerable than other races of a more unholy/neutral alignment might be.
Though first ignites a single flame, Hellfire can be combined with various anointed oils, such as Olive, Laurel, and Almond oil, to speed up the spreading of normal fire. Such methods can prove a powerful way to keep enemies, especially those of good or holy alignment, at bay and more likely to flee than recriminate. Furthermore, the presence of Hellfire interferes greatly with holy psyche, causing distress, lack of focus and in severe cases, uncompromised frenzy. Though difficult, Hellfire may be extinguished by normal means (i.e. water, sand, smothering). However, it would take roughly double the amount of ordinary water or smothering to put it out completely. Holy water and holy magics are more effective at doing this, as is the breath weapon of an Ice Dragon.
